Hey guys and gals!

Whao, its been a while since I've manage to find the time to update this blog.. apologies apologies, the start of 2010 has left much to be desired.. But much on that later on, anyway the Sepang F1 has just been concluded yesterday.. Congrats to Vettel and Webber from RedBull in winning 1st and 2nd place.. in the hot hot Sunday, heck its just such an endurance circuit... not only for the drivers but for the spectators too..

I had first hand experience when I decided to check out the practice runs.. here's the photos..

         Yeah.. its blazingly hot!

For those who's new to Sepang, this is what greets you after the gates of Sepang.. Only to see this which is as far as the eye can see.. So yeah bring tons of sunblock and water.. anyway get ready to pay RM5 for coke, RM 20 for a burget or RM20 for a few sticks of satay..

Below's the view from the grandstand overlooking of the starting grid overseeing the pits..

Another view from the other side ..

Yeah.. this is the view using the 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 Nikkor lens.. as close as you get with this from that range..

So we decided to walk to the final hair pin at the end of the straight.. which the photo below is at the farthest end..

Ah, Micheal Shumy's pit crew of the Mercedes GP Petronas Formula 1 Team..

Took some shelter from the heat at close to the end of the grandstand..

Anyway, I decided to do some panning techniques.. Below are some of the shots taken right after the hairpin turn while the car is just about to accelerate for the final straight.. Taken at 200mm @ 1/20s

The above shot was shot as is, below is the crop..

Granted that the sunlight is glazing those shiny surfaces.. anyway more panning shots..

These are also at 200mm but focused at the other side of the circuit.. the camera and car are within similar heights which helps ensure sharpness.. and of course close up panning is much more difficult..

Below's the view of the end of the grandstand..

Ah a parting shot of Micheal Shumy finishing his test laps..

Ah.. going back you'll see the KLIA control tower as the backdrop of this huge and extremely loud Sepang F1 circuit..  That's the end of my trip.. there are plenty of other backlog entries that I've to find time publish so yeah, hope that you guys be patient and wish us all the best for 2010..  More soon..

Hey everyone!

In the last few months of 2009, Ardent has been working closely with our good friend Ben Ng, founder of Fluid Alchemy. We decided to work together due to our love and passion for the things we do, Ben for his love and passion of mixology and of course ours for our love and passion for photography. With this, Ardent will be an extension of Basic Management in providing photography related services, complimenting their existing mixology related services.

With this partnership, we've forged new ties with Robinsons, Monin and Krespy Kreme as our corporate clients and moving towards 2010, we @ Ardent look forward in strengthening our relationships with them as well as forging new relationships through our dedication to quality, professionalism and above all, passion for what we do best. All in an extremely competitive price! .. had to put that in Cool

Our new logo inconjunction with our partnership will look like the one below.

We @ Ardent would like to take this opportunity to personally thank our corporate clients Wee Sien, Edwin, Keith, Timothy, and Zetty our partner in crime, Ben, our friends over at YS, Zaffery and his wife Lillian and their staff Ms Then and Kent, our wedding clients as well and last but not least our friends and families for their support and faith in us and I hope that all of you would kindly extend that through years to come as well. Cool

Lets all enter 2010 and make it one helluva great year! all the best!

Hey everyone!

Whao, its been 1 year already? damn that's quick.. I hope everyone had a helluva great time sending 2009 back to the history books and ushering the new 2010 year.. yep.. 2 years before the Mayan's end of the world prediction of 2012.. Well, end of the world or not, its always good to live life today, appreciate those around you and give it your best..

We had planned in celebrating the new year in Library @ The Curve .. unfortunately our reservation which was originally to be on the 2nd floor open air deck area was given away to a larger crowd, the manager was kind enough to place me at another table near to  the live band (kudos to Nick! thanks a lot bro! greatly appreciate it) .. sound system is not bad, didn't feel deaf as the speakers was placed high above..  good band as well .. the photo of the band.. (didn't take much as the place was extremely crowded and moving around with my equipment seems too hazardous amid all the intoxicated or semi-intoxicated folks around..

The view from my table towards the entrance of the Library.. the light is blue due to the spot light and the slight haze is due to the .... yep smokers..  its a full house!

Anyway, we didn't stayed too long as we intended to take the fireworks (which I missed last year..) so we moved of to our secondary location.. a good photographer does his homework.. a better than good photographer does the same plus a backup plan.. Cool The shot below is taken on our way to our 2ndary location just infront of Cineleisure @ Mutiara Damansara.. its packed with people sitting on the pavement and people selling things from packet drinks to Pak Cu's famous guava to those snow sprays..

So at below are the series of fireworks that was taken.. one was towards The Curve.. and another is towards 1 Utama.. this year around, The Curve's fireworks dwarfs the 1Utama's fireworks in terms of sheer size but 1 Utama's fireworks has a bit more variety..

Originally, I'd wanted to have Ikano / IKEA building to be the background of the fireworks but this time around, the fireworks display was much further in towards Kampung Penchala.. Well, we go where the action is...

I so love the fireworks shot below.. looks like a hibiscus.. minus the stigma..

The one below also looks really cool..

The shot below reminds me of an exotic lilly flower..

I know that the below shot isn't nice, but was placed here to show how large some of the fireworks actually are..

Below shot was the fireworks opening from The Curve..

Okay.. now for the show from 1 Utama's side..

Yep.. they have fireworks that comes from the ground up as well..

Looks like a palm tree doesn't it?

This fireworks is kinda cool.. the reason for the design is due to the parachute..

This is close to the finale.. the final shot is just like an atomic bomb detonating.. which isn't much to see, just one bright light..

So that's the year 2010..  both shows lasted for 10 minutes and was spectacular.. That's it for now.. Happy New Year everyone! have a great 2010!

Hey everyone!

Yes, its the last day of 2009.. so what are we up to these past few days? well.. first of all.. its time to chill back after a long year.. so its off to Haagen Dazs ...  just some photos before this delicious treat was devoured..

Of course, even a simple photo, getting the focus and depth of field correct, is a 2nd nature..  as the photo below, we want the viewer to look at the ice-cream while the strawberry, although delicious, is slightly off focus to not let it steal the limelight from the awesomeness of haagen dazs.. yum..  Cool

And what's at The Curve @ Mutiara Damansara? well.. there are tons of Christmas deco.. but so far Pavilion deco's top again in Ardent's chart (if we ever had one) of best Christmas Deco for shopping malls..

Yeah those on top are mistletoes .. and no, it doesn't mean more of them means you'll get more kisses or larger ones get you erm.. to the next base.. nice try..

So here's the latest place to visit when you are @ The Curve.. The Library.. believe it or not, there are actual books here for rent.. tho its been said that this is the noisiest library on the planet.. and boy.. I can't refute that..

Above is the photo inside The Library.. there is an outside area as well as the next photo below will partially show..  The time I went there, it was the Semi Finals of the Digi Got Talent contest.. first prize.. RM30k .. 4 talents with 2 rounds to show their stuff.. voted by the patrons of The Library..  So far I can say, the dance troupe should win.. and I so wish that they had Simon Cowell as one of the judges ..

One of the female judges went 'Oh everyone said I sound like Paula.. but' then continued bringing more of Paula like compliments that doesn't give the contestants any idea on how to up their game.. the judges is just such a let down..  Yell

Just some artistic shot...

And yes.. The Library has a wide range of beers and booze.. seriously, you can get all the good stuffs here..  Smile

Ah.. Hoegaarden beer.. a simple shot, using the AF-S Micro Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 at 1/6sec, hand held..  oh yeah.. while being partially drunk..   now that's SKILL!

That's all for now.. will post more photos of our new year celebration in the days to come.. Have one helluva send of for 2009 and welcoming 2010 in superb fashion.. Catch all of you guys and gals next year! Happy New Year!

So till then, keep the fires burning, egg nog running.. wines sipping.. as most of us would have an long and I hope to say fruitful year, whatever it is, Christmas is a time for friends and family..

Hey everyone!

Its been a while since I got time to update this site.. much to ado to the Christmas seasons.. tons of promotions, events and not forgetting weddings as well.. We were at Pavilion recently to cover a fashion show and had some time to linger and just take some random snaps of the Christmas deco brought to you by Pavilion KLCC. Last year, it was a white Christmas, this year, its way more colorful as the photos will show..

The view from above.. and of course some Christmas decorations as well..

Abstract shots are everywhere, if you know what to look for.. I love the design as well as the texture that gives it a better feel / gradient to the eye..

Ah.. one of the things I love about Pavilion is that they hired a band of musicians led by one wickedly talented saxophonist.. really do enjoyed their own rendition of the standard Christmas carols..

There.. the maestro in action.. unfortunately this fella really doesn't want to pose for a good shot and I didn't want to move around to get better shots as I preferred to just enjoy the music and not get kicked out for annoying the crowd..

I hope to be posting up a few more articles this month but if I don't.. Ardent would like to wish all of you a Happy Merry Christmas and a Happy 2010 New Year! There's a lot of new things coming for us in 2010 and will keep all of you informed of our journey..

            Stay healthy and happy everyone!
