Hey everyone!

How's the start of 2010 been for you? We @ Ardent has been pretty busy with a few house keeping and projects going on.. need to gear things up for the rest of the year, as well as for the upcoming Tiger Chinese New Year rowr!

Well, everyone of course aspects good things in 2010 and in following with conventional wisdom of good things, here we present a new club to join the Changkat Bukit Bintang street called Elixir.. and with that lets have a tour..

These images depict the bar area which is situated at the center of the club.. at the end consists of a dance floor and DJ console which will be shown further down this article.. Notice the furnishings and designs right up to ceiling designs..

And also the lighting changes as it slowly progresses later into the night to fit into the mood..

The above image is taken from the opposite angle, showing the entrance..

A close up look at the bar area..

The private areas.. oh I so love the Dita Von Teese photo.. More about her here..

This is another private area..

The view of both private sofa areas..

Ah.. and the VVIP area..  next to the DJ console and dance floor.. oval shaped..

The above is the dance floor and standing area..

The principle mixologist from Russia.. a real talented and cool dude..

Below are some of the free style artistic shots of the place..

Taken with Ardent's favorite lens.. the AF-S 105 F2.8 Micro Nikkor.. with the depth of field precisely focused (notice the area where you can see the intricate detail of the cloth weave) .. this is actually taken from a larger image below..

The larger image, you can't see the fine details of the weave.. that's why photos look great while printed in 4R or viewed small but when enlarged to A3 or larger like bunting sizes for advertising shoots, any mistake on focus will be easily seen..

The above shot is another example of precise depth of field.. when executed with such precision, one can create artistic images out of something seemingly boring object..

The above is taken without the use of photoshop to artificially create the depth of field blurness around the bottle object.. Frankly, its easy for professionals like us to see such modifications..  Ultimately if the photo is done right, there is no need to manipulate the image (tweaking to enhance for color, contrast, brightness is deemed acceptable, as even photo labs have to tweak the images to suit their printing machines capabilities) .. the client paid for photographers, not graphic designers..

The above image is actually perfect with one minor flaw.. to remove the ashtray that is blocking the reflection of the glass.. well as you can see, we @ Ardent are still humans after all.. tho its hard to spot.. and honest as well! Cool

Ah.. some VSOA.. not VSOP..

If you zoom in closer, the focus is exactly on the lip of the bottle.. with everything else slowly bluring away hence making your focus go straight to the pouring of the VSOA..

And at last.. the view of Elixir's entrance from Changkat Bukit Bintang..

I hope to have more time to post up some of the projects completed so far so stay tuned!

Cheers,

Adrian Y.

Hey everyone!

Yes, its the last day of 2009.. so what are we up to these past few days? well.. first of all.. its time to chill back after a long year.. so its off to Haagen Dazs ...  just some photos before this delicious treat was devoured..

Of course, even a simple photo, getting the focus and depth of field correct, is a 2nd nature..  as the photo below, we want the viewer to look at the ice-cream while the strawberry, although delicious, is slightly off focus to not let it steal the limelight from the awesomeness of haagen dazs.. yum..  Cool

And what's at The Curve @ Mutiara Damansara? well.. there are tons of Christmas deco.. but so far Pavilion deco's top again in Ardent's chart (if we ever had one) of best Christmas Deco for shopping malls..

Yeah those on top are mistletoes .. and no, it doesn't mean more of them means you'll get more kisses or larger ones get you erm.. to the next base.. nice try..

So here's the latest place to visit when you are @ The Curve.. The Library.. believe it or not, there are actual books here for rent.. tho its been said that this is the noisiest library on the planet.. and boy.. I can't refute that..

Above is the photo inside The Library.. there is an outside area as well as the next photo below will partially show..  The time I went there, it was the Semi Finals of the Digi Got Talent contest.. first prize.. RM30k .. 4 talents with 2 rounds to show their stuff.. voted by the patrons of The Library..  So far I can say, the dance troupe should win.. and I so wish that they had Simon Cowell as one of the judges ..

One of the female judges went 'Oh everyone said I sound like Paula.. but' then continued bringing more of Paula like compliments that doesn't give the contestants any idea on how to up their game.. the judges is just such a let down..  Yell

Just some artistic shot...

And yes.. The Library has a wide range of beers and booze.. seriously, you can get all the good stuffs here..  Smile

Ah.. Hoegaarden beer.. a simple shot, using the AF-S Micro Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 at 1/6sec, hand held..  oh yeah.. while being partially drunk..   now that's SKILL!

That's all for now.. will post more photos of our new year celebration in the days to come.. Have one helluva send of for 2009 and welcoming 2010 in superb fashion.. Catch all of you guys and gals next year! Happy New Year!

Cheers,

Adrian Y.

Hey everyone!

Like I said, last week was really hectic.. and now got to just catch up on this website.. I've re-organized the main page and manage to archive some of our 2008 shots into a separate page instead of everything cluttered into Events I, Events II and Events III.. yeah the Events Triology..  Tongue out

Getting back to the pictures, below are the pictures taken from Ben's Fluid Alchemy event at the 33rd floor of Traders Hotel.. called SkyBar...

Timothy and Jacky posing for some quick pics..

Then Ben had to make it a threesome...

erm.. Jacky got out of the way.. add me.. which leaves 3 normal dudes chilling for a photo.. that's it.. trust me..

Am pretty tired for a Monday.. catch you guys and gals later..

Cheers,

Adrian Y.

Hey guys and gals!

How's everyone doing? Hope 09 has been treating you with goodies ya! We @ Ardent ended March with the launching of  'Flight of Green Fairy'.. Abstinthe babeh! @ Werner's On Changkat.. located along Jalan Changkat Bukit Bintang.. TWE Enterprise did all Malaysians a favour in bringing in Absinthe.. until yesterday I thought it was still banned in the UK but it got lifted a few years back.. wheee!

Originated in Switzerland.. I guess when the whole world was so into starting wars and such, our good swiss friends just went the happy booze way.. which wasn't all that bad.. with an alcohol content ranging from 45% - 75%.. yeah 75% babeh.. the only legal alcohol drink that has a warning, do not consume more than 3 shots of any one time.. hhhmm.. don't drink and drive ya!

We were guests of Ben Ng ... that mixologist dude who's hell bent in making me a bankrupt, one shot at a time..  anyway we were there early at 5.30pm to take some pre-event shots of the place..

Anyway, to cut a long story short, we got to meet a few familiar faces such as Sugu from Zeta Bar KL.. We got to meet Vincent and Michelle Loh.. really fun, friendly and down to earth.. Eva.. the boyfriend gal who made that lovely gift (a collection of informative and creatively designed cards, tied with a string along with a tiny bottle containing .. you guessed it.. Absinthe..) , Felicia.. the gal whom initially performed a 'tarik harga' routine... 'aiya a lot of photographers to choose.. I get back to you...' then later.. she's like in every other picture.. aiya headache la to photoshop.. hehhe Cool

Of course, not forgetting Timothy as well as Keith..  what can I say.. not much especially after Kieth started the conversation with 'I got this back room' which probably didn't mean anything but after Absinthe, it just felt so wrong.. in the end, we got to know that the room is white.. mostly thanks to Kieth.. all we ended up was informing Kieth that he might have missed a spot on the ceiling.. keep trying dude! winners aren't quitters ya! hahahhaa Cool  (I've a feeling I'll so get poisoned by my next drink from this dude!)

Andreas.. of course.. the charming dude from Werner.. thanks for welcoming and making us feel at home.. you got an amazing place!

Finally, congratulations to TWE's team in making this event a success.. maybe next time Ardent can be an official part of it as well Cool  You guys and gals conducted your roles professionally, payed close attention to the finer details, passionate and above all, Jacky and I left the place feeling deeply honored to have met all of you.. whom if I maybe so bold, to call my friends..

I hope to see all of you in the near future.. In the mean time, as a snippet of what went down that night, here are some of the pictures.. the rest can be viewed at our profile gallery located here ..

Cheers,

Adrian & Jacky

And here I present to you.. an Absinthe inspired cocktail..

Hey everyone!

Whao, We @ Ardent haven't stop working yet ever crossing the New Year of 09.. Apologise for all the delays in posting up pictures.. So lets continue..

A few weeks back, Clare invited Jacky and myself over to meet some of her wicked friends, first picture is taken at Zouk Aristo where Clare's friend Donovan (Resident DJ) is playing..

After which we moved camp towards Space @ The Loft KL (Asian Heritage Row @ Jalan Dorasamy KL) to meet up with Glen and a few of her other friends..

Breaking with tradition again, one cool Brit wanted to take pictures with my camera which I obliged..

Just on the next table, there was a birthday celebration and these were the pictures taken of them..

Below is Clare and her friend from France..

While leaving Space, just took a quick snap below..

Didn't take that many pictures of the surroundings as it wasn't an official event.. The whole place has a concrete feel from the chairs to the tables.. all made of cement / concrete type of materials.. but they placed cushions strategically in areas which your butt somewhat lands on.. and nifty light linings around which just gave a different feel to the place..

The MoMo Penang pictures are already up under the work section (Events II) or click here to view them.. Chinese New Year 09 is at our door step and we are all buzy doing all the necessary preparations.. Till then.. have a great long weekend and don't forget to drive safe!

Cheers,

Adrian Y.

Hey guys and gals!

This is a bit of a back post of an event just after Christmas..  of course it's just a short glimpse of the pics which after being fully released to the client and his approval will be posted under the work section of our site. So here I present to you the Island Dance Party of 2008 @ Club Momo in Penang..

That night was really unfortunate for me personally as I was unwell (coughing my lungs out, oh by the way, do remember that you'll have to fork out 2x when going to Hospitals for treatment.. mine costs me a cool RM 170+ which didn't cure me in time anyway.. ) So if any of those lovely gals below some how manage to find this site, yeah I know I'm suppose to pass you my contact for the pictures but oopso.. my bad..

So do drop me an email.. adriany@ArdentExpressions.com and as a security to prevent any pervs from getting these pictures, do let me know what I was wearing that night..

I'll post more pictures of this event at a later date.. as there were pictures of KL DJ's such as SAM Chiko, Sashi Blue, GMix from Aloha and Clare Large from UK.. Till the next time..

Cheers,
Adrian Y.

Hey guys & gals!

We've decided to chill out at Zeta bar last Saturday and go visit Louis and his band.. to enjoy their music before their contract ends on 2th January 2009..

KL Hilton is really an up market area.. every entry point has 2 guards that will check your car's undercarage and boot for bombs.. and the main entrace to KL Hilton is never short of a Ferraris.. last Sat the count was 2 Ferrari's neatly parked and tucked for all to see.. Le Meridian on the other hand although its the simese twin of KL Hilton, doesn't quite enjoy such high class show of fancy cars and I'm also guessing VIPs..

There was some free time to roam around KL Hilton and these are some of the pictures around..

Of course.. a blog entry of Zeta is never complete without pictures of the band members..

And our friends Amin from FCUK and his companion..

That's all for this round.. With Ardent's busy schedule in the coming days, I'm unsure that we'll be able to visit this band before they leave.. the next band is a 5 all gal band.. think Pussycat Dolls I guess.. Cool

Just sneaking in here is a picture of Euphoria with their new funky sign board.. granted that I've not set foot in Euphoria for a few months now (they have to wait their turn!) but did so last Sunday to collect my Euphoria Inner Circle card..

Cheers,

Adrian Y.
